Every aspect of your financial world should be a part of your financial plan. Your plan should not be limited to just saving for retirement. You may need to incorporate other areas such as saving for your children's college, debt elimination, the what if's of unexpected disability, long-term care needs, or premature death, as well as a host of other things that fit into your life.
